The primary reason to juice is to gain the highest nutritional boost. When produce is washed and cut, it releases enzymes that begin to deplete its vitamins & minerals… fast. By the time pre-cut – or even pre-washed – produce is used, it is FAR from its optimal state. Keeping it whole maintains the bounty of healthy benefits.

Prep Steps

To enjoy the greatest nutritional benefits, wash all items thoroughly and prep right before juicing then drink it soon after. You likely have your own prep preferences but here’s ours:

  • Apples: Remove stem, cut into quarters, remove seeds.
  • Beets: Cut ends off. Slice further if needed to fit your juicer shoot.
  • Carrots: Cut ends off.
  • Cucumber: Cut ends off.
  • Ginger: Peel outer skin.
  • Kale: Cut ends off.
  • Lemon: Cut away most of the rind but leave as much of the white pith as possible.
  • Lime: Cut away most of the rind but leave as much of the white pith as possible.
  • Mango: Slice on either side of the flat pit, peel and halve. Also cut remaining fruit.
  • Orange: Cut away most of the rind but leave as much of the white pith as possible.
